About Unified E box
An internal email-management platform built for a distributed workforce that runs on personal Gmail accounts.
The problem we set out to solve
UniEbox LLC operates with a large remote workforce spread across several countries. Members handle a meaningful volume of correspondence, and they do it from their own personal Gmail accounts rather than from accounts in a company-controlled Google Workspace domain.
That arrangement works for the individual and badly for the team. A member handling mail for more than one purpose ends up switching between accounts and browser profiles. Conversations get missed because there is no single place that shows what is outstanding. And a team lead has no consistent view of whether correspondence is being answered.
Unified E box addresses that narrowly: it gives each member one workspace for the mail they already handle, without asking them to give up Gmail, forward their mail somewhere else, or share a password with anybody.
How we approached it
- Consent belongs to the account holder. Every mailbox is connected by its owner through Google’s own consent screen, and can be disconnected by them at any moment. We never ask for or hold Google credentials.
- Ask for as little as possible. We request three OAuth scopes. Where a broader permission would have been more convenient to build against, we declined it, and we list those refusals explicitly on the Gmail integration page.
- Never destroy mail. The application cannot permanently delete a member’s mail, because we deliberately did not request a scope that would allow it.
- Say what the software does. Every claim on this site describes behaviour that is implemented. We do not list certifications we do not hold.
Who uses it
Unified E box is used by members of UniEbox LLC. It is not a consumer product and is not offered for general public sign-up. Because members authenticate with personal Gmail accounts rather than accounts in a domain we control, the application is registered with Google as an external OAuth application and every user passes through the standard consent flow.
What Unified E box is not
- It is not an advertising or marketing-data business. We do not monetize mail content in any form.
- It is not a data broker. We do not sell or resell Google user data.
- It is not a bulk-sending tool. Mail is sent only when a member composes and submits it.
- It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Google.
